When pain has been part of your life for months
Long-standing pain is exhausting in a way that acute pain is not, and it rarely has a single cause. Care focuses on function: what you can do, what sets you back, and how to widen that gap. Progress is measured against your goals rather than a protocol.
Who this page is for
Adults with musculoskeletal pain lasting more than three months, including people who have already tried several approaches.
Why people come in
These are reasons patients give for booking. They are not a diagnosis, and only an examination can tell you what is happening in your case.
- Pain that has outlasted the original injury
- Flare-ups triggered by activity, stress or poor sleep
- Activities dropped or avoided over time
- A sense of being passed between providers without a plan
How the evaluation works
We take a full history including previous care, examine movement and joint function, and screen for features that require medical investigation.
How we may approach care
Care usually pairs manual therapy with graded activity and self-management, with realistic goals agreed with you. We make no claim to eliminate long-standing pain.
What a first visit may involve
Bring your history, current medications and what you have already tried. Expect a longer conversation than a typical first appointment.
Safety and when to seek other care
Unexplained weight loss, fever, night pain that wakes you, a history of cancer, or new neurological symptoms need medical investigation before conservative care continues.
Questions patients ask
Is it too late for care to help?
Duration alone does not decide that. An examination and a conversation about goals will give you a realistic picture.
Will I need endless visits?
Plans are reviewed against your goals, and self-management is part of the point.
